The Evolution of My Work

From Complexity to Stillness

Over the years my work has moved through many layers.

Movement

Biomechanics

Yoga

Bodywork

Chinese medicine

Somatic awareness

Each of these systems brought something valuable. Each one revealed a different doorway into understanding the body. Over time I studied how structure influences breath, how fascia transmits tension through the body, how meridians circulate energy, and how the nervous system regulates our experience of safety and stress.

For a long time, my work became increasingly detailed. I explored deeper anatomy, more advanced techniques, more precise ways to influence the body.

And then something interesting began to happen.

The more I understood the body, the more I realised that the body already knows how to reorganise itself.

What it often needs is not more force, more technique, or more complexity.

It needs the right conditions.

From Doing More to Doing Less

Many bodywork systems try to correct the body. They work to fix muscles, adjust joints, or manipulate tissues so the structure changes.

There is value in that work.

But there is another pathway that becomes visible when we look at how the nervous system functions.

When the nervous system settles, circulation improves. Fascia softens. Breath deepens. Meridians begin to move more freely. The body reorganises naturally.

This realisation gradually shifted the direction of my work.

Instead of asking how I can change the body, I began asking a different question.

How can I create the conditions where the body changes itself?

This is where the idea of Still Point Technology began to emerge.

The Power of a Still Point

A still point is a moment where the body enters deep quiet.

Breathing becomes slower. Muscular tension releases. The nervous system shifts toward regulation.

During this moment something subtle but powerful happens.

Circulation through fascia changes. Fluid systems move differently. Meridian pathways open. The body reorganises patterns that were previously held in tension.

The practitioner does not force this to happen.

The practitioner simply creates stable contact and allows the system to settle.

When the body reaches this quiet place, it often reveals its own intelligence.

Why Simplicity Matters

After years of exploring many techniques I found myself returning to something much simpler.

Stable contact

Clear observation

Enough time for the body to respond

This simplicity is not a reduction of knowledge. It is the result of deeper understanding.

When anatomy, fascia, meridian theory, and nervous system regulation are viewed together, they begin to describe the same system from different angles.

The body becomes a network rather than a collection of separate parts.

Working with still points allows these networks to communicate with each other.

A hold on the foot may influence breathing.

A contact at the sternum may release tension in the pelvis.

A gentle support under the skull may calm the entire nervous system.

The richness of this approach comes from the way multiple systems meet in one simple point of contact.

The Role of Alchemy of Bodywork

Alchemy of Bodywork grew from this realisation.

It is the evolution of my previous bodywork training known as Bliss Bodywork. The foundation remains the same. A deep respect for the intelligence of the body.

What has changed is the method.

The system now begins with grounding assessment, so the practitioner understands how the receiver stabilises the nervous system.

From there we move through the Signature Five Hold Protocol, which gently organises the body from head to ground.

Once the system settles we introduce still point arrangements that access the extraordinary meridians and the myofascial meridian lines.

These arrangements allow structural anatomy, energetic circulation, and nervous system regulation to interact naturally.

The practitioner holds.

The body responds.

Why This Work Feels Relevant Now

We live in a time where the nervous system rarely rests.

Constant information, stimulation, and stress keep many people in a state of subtle activation.

The body becomes efficient at surviving.

But it loses the ability to settle.

Still point work offers the opposite experience.

It creates a space where the body pauses long enough to remember how to regulate itself.

Breathing slows.

Muscles soften.

Circulation improves.

Awareness becomes clearer.

In a world that moves quickly, learning how to create these moments of stillness may be one of the most valuable skills we can develop.

Returning to the Essence

After many years of exploring different approaches, the direction of my work now feels clear.

Less complexity.

More precision.

Less force.

More listening.

Still points reveal something beautiful about the body.

When the right conditions appear, the body naturally finds its way back toward balance.

Sometimes all it needs is a place to pause.

And perhaps, this year especially, we all need a few more chill points.
