Alchemy of Motion Training
Teaching movement therapeutically
Alchemy in Motion is a movement methodology that applies therapeutic reasoning inside yoga based sequencing, so the body feels organised before effort begins.
Rather than asking the body to perform first and recover later, this work teaches how to organise breathing, alignment, and coordination so movement becomes efficient, sustainable, and precise.
Each session follows a clear therapeutic logic. We assess how the body is currently moving, apply specific corrective strategies, integrate them directly into a yoga based sequence, and close by reinforcing what the body needs. This trains the nervous system to recognise organisation as the starting point, not the reward.
Corrective strategies are not treated as drills or warm ups. They are woven into real movement so the body learns while it moves.
As coordination improves, people often experience a sense of clarity and embodiment. Early developmental patterns re emerge. Energy that was previously lost through compensation becomes available.
This is not a style.
It is a method.
How this work is taught
In both 1 to 1 and group settings, we teach yoga as therapy.
Movement is guided by how the body organises itself, not by imposed shapes or aesthetic ideals. The focus is on restoring coordination, efficiency, and usable energy.
This work includes:
• Understanding centre of mass, its relationship to gravity, and how habitual biases shape movement.
• Exploring developmental kinesiology and how early movement patterns influence breathing, stability, and coordination.
• Working with the shape, position, and dynamics of the rib cage, and how this affects breathing during movement.
• Using drills that improve movement effectiveness and learning how to sequence them intelligently for therapeutic application.
• Learning the anatomy that is relevant to movement, not anatomy imposed by textbook norms.
• Applying precise anatomical cueing that creates functional change.
• Understanding fundamental human movement science that translates across yoga, gym training, sport, and daily life.
• Retraining missed developmental stages and resolving compensation patterns so wasted energy becomes available again.
• Developing visual assessment and biomechanical reasoning, recognising that common assumptions often mask underlying movement limitations.
The aim is not to fix bodies.
The aim is to teach people how to think therapeutically in movement, whether working one to one, teaching groups, or moving through everyday life.
Who this work is for
Alchemy in Motion is for people who want movement to make sense.
It is suited to yoga teachers, movement professionals, bodyworkers, athletes, and practitioners who want to understand how to organise movement rather than force it.
The work translates directly into yoga practice, gym training, sport, and daily life.
